A Midyear Moment to Breathe

Before summer schedules speed up, take an hour to slow down with God.

Join us for Hour of Power on Sunday, June 7, from 12:30–1:30 PM following the 10:30 service.

Through worship, testimony, and prayer, we’ll pause together, reconnect with God, and encourage one another in community.

Circle of Friends – Wounded Women of the Bible
Finding Hope When Life Hurts

Life leaves its mark—through relationships, loss, mistakes, or seasons of feeling unseen. But God specializes in healing hearts and restoring hope.

Beginning September 8, Circle of Friends meets on the 2nd and 4th Mondays at 7 PM for a powerful Bible study: Wounded Women of the Bible. This study takes us through the real-life stories of women from Scripture—Bathsheba, Hagar, Martha, and others—who faced abuse, loneliness, betrayal, loss, and much more.

If you’ve ever thought women played little role in the Bible—or had little to teach today’s woman—you’re in for a surprise. Their struggles mirror our own, and their journeys reveal God’s unchanging love and power to restore.

Each participant will encounter this book differently, returning to it at various points in her faith and life journey. Whether you are seeking healing, longing for deeper connection, or simply want to grow in God’s Word, you’ll find encouragement and renewal here.

Circle of Friends is more than a study. It’s a safe, welcoming community where women connect with God, grow in faith, and lift each other up.

Come as you are. Leave renewed.
Meets: 2nd & 4th Mondays | 7 PM | Starting September 8

The Glow Up – You Heard the Word. Now Let’s Talk.

Sunday After Service

Let’s be honest—sometimes a sermon sparks something deep in your heart… and you’re left wanting to process it, question it, or just talk it out. That’s exactly what The Glow Up is all about.

This weekly post-service gathering creates space for real-time conversation with Pastor Tammy, Pastor Tony, or our guest speaker. It’s casual, thoughtful, and designed to help you dig deeper into the message you just heard.

Whether you’re new to faith or you’ve been walking with God for years, we believe there’s something powerful that happens when we take time to reflect together. The Glow Up gives you an opportunity to:

  • Ask honest questions while the sermon is still fresh
  • Share your insights or experiences in a welcoming space
  • Hear how others are processing and applying the message
  • Grow closer to God and deeper in community

This isn’t a class, and it’s not a lecture—it’s a dialogue. It’s about growing together in faith, life, and purpose. You’ll walk away encouraged, challenged, and more connected—not just to the church, but to the story God is writing in your life.

The Glow Up is part of how we live out our mission: Connecting with God. Growing Together. Changing the World.

We can’t wait for you to be part of it.

Alongside our ongoing Wired Word for Men & Women, we’re offering three new ACF courses this quarter. Each designed to meet us where we are and invite us to live out our faith with clarity, courage, and purpose.

Essentials of Faith

What unites us as Christians across traditions and generations? In this six-session RightNow Media series, Francis Chan explores the core truths that shape our faith and our relationship with God.

Let Peace Reign: Love, Justice, and Dignity in God’s Kingdom

In a world marked by injustice and division, this six-week Bible study invites us to imagine and live into God’s vision of love, justice, and peace. Through video teaching and guided discussion, participants are encouraged to expand their faith and engage the work of God’s Kingdom in practical ways.
Facilitated by: Tony DeGruy

Precepts for Living: Principles for Living in an Unhinged World

We’re resuming our UMI course offering focused on grounding faith in God’s promises and instruction. This study helps participants not only understand Scripture, but live it with conviction and clarity in today’s complex world.

Walk Justly. Love Mercy. Live Humbly.

At South Bay Community Church, we believe God calls us to act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly (Micah 6:8).

That's why the Advocates for Justice ministry exists—to foster awareness and action on issues of justice, equality, and advocacy in our community and beyond. Led by Pastor Tony DeGruy, this ministry offers resources, readings, podcasts, and opportunities to engage with real issues that matter.

Discovery Shop: Giving With Purpose

Discovery Shop is a ministry of South Bay Community Church dedicated to serving individuals and families in need through gently used clothing and basic household items. Rooted in our mission to change the world, this ministry offers a simple yet meaningful way to extend compassion, dignity, and care to our community.

By participating in Discovery Shop, our congregation helps meet real, everyday needs while living out our faith in action. This ministry reminds us that generosity is more than a gesture. It is a response to God’s call to love our neighbors in practical and tangible ways.

There is an ongoing need for winter items, including male and female socks, walking shoes, coats, sweaters, and similar essentials. Donations can be placed in the designated bins located in the church lobby.

Discovery Shop also serves as a resource for those looking to support others they know who are experiencing hardship. Congregants who wish to retrieve items from the shop to share with the underserved are encouraged to connect with Denise Churchill using the contact information available in the Elexio app.

Whether you donate, help distribute items, or simply spread the word, your participation helps turn compassion into action. Learn more or register to get involved and be part of how SBCC continues to serve our community with love.
