Personal Profile

Pastor Murphy is a native of Indianapolis, IN. He received his undergraduate degree from Purdue University - a Bachelors of Science in Business Management. Upon graduation, he relocated to northern California and began a career in Information Technology. After several years of working for high tech companies in Silicon Valley, Pastor Murphy began his own IT consulting firm which he operated for nearly 10 years until the Lord called him into full time ministry in 2006.

Pastor Murphy is a long time member of SBCC. He was a volunteer with the youth ministry for 6 years before beginning his theological education at Fuller Theological Seminary; during which time he joined the pastoral staff as Youth Pastor. Pastor Murphy received his Masters of Divinity degree from Fuller in September of 2008 and previously served on SBCC's staff as Youth Pastor and Associate Pastor prior to accepting his current call in the fall of 2010.

Pastor Murphy has been married to his beautiful and loving wife Stacy for eleven years. They have three wonderful children: Shalice, Eric and Darrion and one grandchild: Braylon. His primary interest outside of his family and ministry are bass fishing and music production.
