Gary Banks, Sr. has been married for 27 years. He has three college-age children who attended and/or graduated from historically black colleges and universities. He is blessed with one granddaughter.

Gary’s relationship with Christ began in March 1980 while he was on the campus of UC Berkeley. His Mission in life has always been to help mankind. He has been a licensed embalmer and cemetery counselor for over 23 years.

For the past 26 years, he has been involved in ministry. Gary has served as Charter Member and Deacon of SBCC working with San Jose Care Units #2, #3, and Fremont; Men’s Fellowship Servant Leader; served with the Hosting Ministry, Male Chorus, Couples for Christ Co-Servant Leader; Sunday School Teacher, Youth Ministry; Bereavement Ministry; as well as the Bill Graham Evangelism Ministry Team ‘Pray for the Bay’ Counselor. His Spiritual Gifts include Helps, Giving, Teaching, and Administration.
